Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and GRRRLHOOD ("we", "us") governing your use of the GRRRLHOOD app and website. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can use GRRRLHOOD

You must be at least 18 years old and use the service in good faith as part of our women's community. Membership is invite-only: you join with a valid invite code and can invite others with your own. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity under it.

2. What the service includes

GRRRLHOOD lets you build a profile, be matched with other members, share to a community feed (posts, replies, up/down votes and the karma they earn, hashtags, and posts you can make permanent, ephemeral, matches-only, close-circle, or anonymous), join communities, and message members (direct messages are end-to-end encrypted). Features may change, launch, or be removed over time.

3. Community rules & zero tolerance

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Accounts that post it will be removed.

You agree not to post or send content that is harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually exploitative, illegal, that impersonates others, or that violates someone's privacy. You won't spam, scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to break or abuse the service.

4. Reporting, blocking & moderation

Every member can report content or users and block anyone, from within the app. We review reports and act on objectionable content and abusive users — typically within 24 hours — by removing content and, where warranted, suspending or permanently banning the account. You can also leave any room or unmatch at any time. To flag something urgent, contact safety@grrrlhood.com.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, and display it to the audience you choose, solely to operate the service. Posts and replies you share to the feed are shown to that audience (everyone, your matches, or your close circle) and to our moderators; direct messages are end-to-end encrypted and we cannot read them. You are responsible for the content you share.

6. Aggregate insights

We may produce de-identified, aggregated statistics about community activity — always under a k-anonymity rule (k ≥ 5) so no figure ever represents fewer than five people — and may share or license those aggregates to third parties. This never includes your personal data, your messages, or your individual location. See the Privacy Policy (§3) for details.

7. Your account & termination

You can delete your account at any time in-app (Settings → Delete account), which erases your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or put the community at risk.

8. Not medical or professional advice

GRRRLHOOD is a peer-support community, not a healthcare provider. Some chapters — including healing, grief and loss, and abuse — touch on difficult experiences. Content shared by members or the app is not medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, or financial advice, and we do not diagnose, treat, or provide crisis care. Always consult a licensed professional (such as a therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist) for your situation, and if you are in crisis contact your local emergency services or crisis line right away. Reliance on anything shared in the app is at your own discretion.

9. Service "as is"

The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; we will revise the "last updated" date and notify you in-app of material changes. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
